Text Box: StLSDP, Who We Are
The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group. Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs, 5 years and older, and place them in adoptive homes. We do not have a “shelter”. All of our dogs live with volunteer foster families and receive the love and care they need to become great family pets.
Many of our rescued dogs are from the St. Louis area’s animal control facilities, and seem to understand they have been given a second (or sometimes third) chance to find a loving forever home.
We are listed on Petfinder.com .

African Wild Dog

African Wild Dog at Tyson Research Facility located in Eureka, MO.  Our volunteers recently took a field trip to see the wolf sanctuary in Eureka.  This fellow is one of four brothers whose natural habitat in Africa no longer exists.  African Wild Dogs are very vicious and are not welcome near villages!  These dogs are part of a program to preserve the DNA of the species.
