OUR MISSION

The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the state of Missouri. We are an all volunteer organization that rescues dogs of all ages but especially dogs 5 years of age and older.

We actively promote the adoption of older dogs. We spay/neuter all dogs, bring them up to date with shots, worming, microchipping and heartworm prevention. We provide our dogs with all necessary veterinary care, including treatment for such things as heartworm disease, kennel cough, pneumonia, intestinal parasites, urinary tract infections, fleas and ticks, and dental care.

Our regular adoption events are held at the South County Petco every first Saturday of the month and at Bentley's Pet Stuff in Kirkwood on the 3rd Saturday from 11AM and 3PM.  We always have many dogs present to come and see, and even more online!

Despite the challenges presented by the novel Corona virus, St. Louis Senior Dog Project is fully prepared to continue fighting its cause. We are actively rescuing dogs in need and will continue to post new intakes.

In response to the government mandated stay at home order, STLSDP is taking the following steps to ensure the safety of our volunteers and community.

  • Public Adoption Events have been suspended until further notice.

  • Adoptions are available by appointment only

  • STLSDP is following CDC guidelines in-person adoptions. We are taking extra cleaning precautions and facemasks are required.

Please contact us with any questions.  We will get through this
together and come out stronger on the other side.  Prayers and love from the STLSDP family to yours.
